Health, Safety and Environment (HSE)
People are at the heart of KPIL, and their health and safety is non-negotiable and paramount. Caring for the planet by safeguarding the fragile environment is always a top priority with the Company. At KPIL, HSE is a continuous cycle to improve performance with environmentally sustainable development and make everyone responsible and accountable to achieve high standards of HSE excellence. Strong emphasis is placed on effective HSE management through project-specific Health Safety and Environmental Management Plans (HSEMP) and procedures. The project team works towards engineering control, safety awareness, education & specialized training programme for all levels and use of latest technology in construction and manufacturing sector.
KPIL constantly endeavors to provide a safe, healthy and positive working environment at all project sites and plants. All plants and sites of the Company follow strict norms to ensure environmental protection. The Company assiduously ensures that there is no danger to the safety of the people or surroundings. There is a conscious effort through green initiatives that include regular planting of trees in and around the plants and sites that helps in development of a green-zone.
KPIL has installed an effluent treatment plant, flux regeneration system, white fume extractor, acid fume extractor and rain water harvesting in its plants as part of its environment friendly initiatives. The Company has provided adequate Personal Protective Equipment’s (PPE) to all workers to ensure safe working conditions.
Quality
Durability and sustainability go hand-in-hand at KPIL, building enduring structures that last beyond their designed lifespan. A sustainable structure can be built only by sustained quality commitment.
Quality defines, differentiates and distinguishes KPIL projects. From quality control at manufacturing plants to quality assurance at project sites, quality is never compromised upon. KPIL ensures strict conformance to quality to ensure clients get reliable, maintainable and sustainable project deliverables.
Every project is executed, developed and delivered with the highest degree of quality not only in terms of materials and expertise, but also in terms of timely delivery.
All transmission tower manufacturing plants has a dedicated quality control team. The team conducts regular in process quality checks before each part is marked as “Passed”. Similarly, to establish, monitor and implement quality standards during execution for all divisions, Project Specific Quality Plan (PSQP) is prepared based on the contract requirement and technical specifications. At all sites quality control engineers ensure the quality by inspecting the workmanship and conducting various tests as per frequency defined in the PSQP. Corporate Quality Assurance team regularly visits various sites and conducts Quality Audit. The team also guides for betterment and provides technical solutions.
To adhere to the stringent time-lines and to achieve the on-time completion of project, company continuously keep exploring for innovative ideas. All employees are encouraged to provide innovative ideas to improve work methodology for better productivity, improved quality standards, reduced wastage, improved efficiency and increased safety standards.
To achieve quality, the key resource of any organization is its people. Management emphasizes on updating skills of this key resource for continual growth of organization. At KPIL, the Parivar members are trained to follow quality standards, to reduce wastage of material and to obtain optimum utilization of resources.
KPIL’s unwavering focus on quality has seen it receive numerous awards and certifications like ISO 9001:2008 (QMS), BS OHSAS 18001:2007 (OHSMS) and ISO 14001:2004 (EMS). KPIL has been also been awarded with a Certification of Appreciation and a Certificate of Honour by the Gujarat Safety Council in association with the Directorate of Industrial Safety & Health, Government of Gujarat for outstanding HSE performance consecutively for the years 2011, 2012 and 2013.
National Safety Council, Ministry of Labour, Government of India has honoured the Company with Bronze award (Suraksha Puraskar) to recognize Meritorious Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) performance and implementing effective OSH Management Systems, practices and procedures at manufacturing Plant – Sector 25, Gandhinagar. It has also honoured the Company with Certificate of Appreciation to recognize Meritorious Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) performance and implementing effective OSH Management Systems, practices & procedures and developing & strengthening effective Client – Contractor – Subcontractor chain for achieving high standards of OSH at 765 KV D/C Chittorgarh Ajmer Transmission Line Project.
